Partner Visa Requirements

To apply for Partner Visa, applicants need to meet certain requirements. With this Partner Visa, the partner or spouse of an Australian citizen or Australian Permanent Resident to live in Australia.

• Eligible Relationship
  Applicant must be in a genuine committed and exclusive relationship with an Australian citizen or Australian Permanent Resident

• Sponsorship
  The applicant’s partner must be willing to sponsor the applicant. Some of the sponsorship criteria including being at least 18 years old and being an Australian citizen or permanent resident

• Age requirement
  No specific age requirement but to be eligible for the partner visa, the applicant and sponsor must be at least 18 years old

• Health and Character Check
  Both applicant and partner need to undergo health and character assessments. This includes police clearance certificates and undergo medical examination

• Financial Support
  Sponsor may need to be able to demonstrate that they can provide adequate financial support for the applicant

• Commitment to a Genuine Relationship
  Applicant and sponsor will need to provide evidence of your relationship including shared financial and household responsibilities, how did you meet and if you share any joint commitments such as children
